The Best Coffee in Dunoon

Delicious soups, home baking, freshly baked scones and rich aromatic coffee, however, Cowal has other attractions too!

The best thing about the Cowal/Comhghall Peninsula, which is a secret part of Argyll/Earra Ghàidheal, is the collection of hills, sea lochs and the ever-changing weather. Stunning scenery, wildlife in abundance, plenty of space to explore, both on land and sea.

There are many excellent forest walks, great sailing, quad biking, cycling, fishing and even the simple things like skimming stones on the shore make Dunoon/Dùn Obhainn and Cowal a relaxing change. Discover Tighnabruaich/Taigh na Bruaich, for a trip on a fishing boat through the Kyles of Bute or take a longer passage, on the last sea going paddle steamer, the Waverley, around the Firth of Clyde.

Cyclists riding from Lands End to John O’Groats, often stop off at the Holy Loch Coffee Shop for a bit of R&R. Sailing crews can be found, across the tables, debating the last race around the Clyde or a voyage down the Firth.

Nearby Quadmania and The Hunters Quay Holiday Village offer activities for the family and Dunoon boasts an informative wee museum perched on the hill behind the pier. Ardkinglas Gardens and Benmore Gardens, have major collections of rhododendrons and the newly restored, 19th Century fernery at Benmore, highlights the Victorian’s passion for ferns.
